Nestle to invest 12 bln rbl in pet food plant in Kaluga Region
KALUGA, Oct 13 (PRIME) -- Nestle Purina PetCare, a unit of Nestle, plans to invest 12 billion rubles in production expansion at its pet food plant in the Kaluga Region until mid-2023, the regional government said in a statement late on Tuesday.
The investment will drive combined spending on expansion of the plant in 2020–20203 to 22 billion rubles. The new investment project encompasses construction of two production lines of wet pet food, and expansion of its distribution center. As a result, 120 new jobs will be created, the government said.
The region’s Economic Development Ministry said that the pet food plant of Nestle Purina PetCare was the first resident of the Vorsino industrial park, and is the largest among 13 company facilities in Europe. The plant produces 95% of Purina pet food sold in Russia, and exports products to 20 countries, including the U.K., France, Italy, Germany, and the CIS countries.
